Project Overview

This job required the Ram Jack team to lift the gazebo exactly 12 inches. The original deep foundation consisted of (8) 8”x 8” treated wood pilings embedded 6 to 8 feet deep. (4) helical piles were installed on the land side and (4) more were installed on the water side. As seen in the pictures below, the crew had to install the water side helicals while working in the water and wearing waders.

The (4) land side piles were installed to a depth of 10–12 feet. The (4) water side piles were installed to approximately 25 feet.

Ram Jack 2.875 inch diameter helical piles were installed each with a single 12 inch helix bearing plate. The piles were connected to the existing 8”x 8” timber piles using the patented Ram Jack Coastal Timber Bracket System.

After all connections were secure, the Ram Jack hydraulic twin cylinder piering system was used to execute the lift quickly and precisely using laser levels to insure lift accuracy. The project was completed start to finish in just one day.

This same system has been used to lift various types of buildings and structures, such as homes on the beaches in Galveston, NC, and also in New Jersey to help with Super Storm Sandy repairs and new construction.
